Weather Forecast for August 7, 2025: Heatwave Expected to Return in Northern Vietnam, Hanoi Up to 33°C

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, heavy rains are gradually decreasing in the mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam, leading to more comfortable weather before the heat returns. Meanwhile, Central Vietnam continues to experience prolonged intense heat, and Southern Vietnam is likely to see scattered showers in the late afternoon.

Heatwave Expands to the North

From August 7 to 8, the region from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang, the eastern parts of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa will continue to face hot weather, with some areas reaching extreme heat. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 35–37°C, with some places exceeding 38°C. The lowest relative humidity will be around 50–55%.

By August 8, the heatwave is forecasted to expand into Northern Vietnam (excluding Dien Bien and Lai Chau), with highs of 35–36°C and local spikes above 36°C. Relative humidity in these regions is expected to range from 60–65%.

The heatwave in the North may last until around August 10–11, while Central regions could see extended hot conditions until approximately August 12.

Note: Forecasted temperatures may differ by 2–4°C compared to actual "felt" outdoor temperatures, especially in urban areas with heat-retaining surfaces such as concrete and asphalt.

Moderate Rain Before the Heat Strikes

Before the new heatwave begins, from the evening of August 6 through the morning of August 7, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are still expected in the mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam. Local rainfall amounts could reach 20–50mm, with some areas exceeding 150mm. Short bursts of intense rain over 100mm in 3 hours are also possible.

Rain will gradually decrease starting the afternoon of August 7.
