Large, mid and smallcap stocks that mutual funds bought and sold in July

In July, mutual funds bought stocks worth Rs 206 billion in the Indian secondary market. Mutual fund managers actively manage portfolios and always add or exit some stocks from their portfolios to offer better returns. Here are the large, mid, and smallcap stocks that mutual funds bought and sold in July, according to the Mutual Fund Insights report by Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research.
The mutual fund industry added Vedanta (Rs 33 billion), HDFC Bank (Rs 27 billion), and ITC (Rs 27 billion) while they reduced their stake from TCS (Rs 27 billion), NTPC (Rs 26 billion), and Avenue Supermarts (Rs 21 billion).
The top additions in the largecap space for three consecutive months were HDFC Bank, Life Insurance Corporation, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, and Larsen & Toubro. The top reductions were Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Hindustan Aeronautics, Avenue Supermarts, and Bharat Electronics.
In the largecap segment, Adani Enterprise and IDBI Bank were new entries in July.
Mutual funds added these midcap stocks for three consecutive months - Sona BLW, Jubilant FoodWorks, Lloyds Metals & Energy, Apar Industries, and SunTV Network. Top reductions were made from SCI, Can Fin Homes, National Aluminium, and Railtel Corporation.
Lloyds Metals, New India Assurance, and Yes Bank were new entries by the mutual fund in the midcap space.
In the small cap space, mutual funds added Redtape, Arvind limited, Lloyds Engineering, Power Mech Projects, and Varroc Eng. for three consecutive months. Key reductions were made from Ahluwalia Contracts, CMS Info Systems, Avanti Feeds, Mahindra Holiday and Jupiter LifeLine.
Mutual funds made a complete exit from five smallcap stocks which included SCI, CPCL, Mangalam Cement, Sundaram Clayton, and Puravankara.
Among the new entries in the smallcap segment were JTL Industries, SMS Pharmaceuticals, Ramkrishna Forgings, Technocraft Industries, and Pitti Engineering. The top holdings from smallcap stocks were Crompton Greaves, Blue Star, Carborundum Universal, Emami, and Kalpataru Projects.
