Nvidia Expands Its AI Empire in Europe with Strategic Infrastructure Deals
11 tháng 6 2025
Nvidia is cementing its leadership in artificial intelligence by forging key infrastructure partnerships across Europe. Learn how these deals aim to create sovereign AI ecosystems and boost regional tech capabilities.
Nvidia Makes Bold Moves in Europe to Strengthen AI Dominance
Nvidia, the global leader in graphics processing units (GPUs), is accelerating its expansion in Europe through a series of high-impact infrastructure partnerships aimed at transforming the continent into a powerhouse of artificial intelligence (AI).
During its GTC Europe event held in Paris, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled a comprehensive roadmap to support Europe's AI ambitions. The strategy is centered on building robust infrastructure, partnering with local governments and enterprises, and promoting what Nvidia calls "sovereign AI."
Why Europe, and Why Now?
The shift toward Europe comes at a critical time. With U.S. export restrictions limiting Nvidia’s access to the Chinese market, the company is actively diversifying its global footprint. Europe, with its advanced industrial base and increasing focus on data sovereignty, presents an ideal opportunity.
“Every industrial revolution begins with infrastructure. AI is the essential infrastructure of our time, just as electricity and the internet once were,” Huang said in a statement. He predicted that Europe’s AI computing capacity will grow tenfold within two years.
Key Partnerships Across the Continent
Nvidia is entering into landmark deals with both public and private sector partners across several European nations:
France: Partnering with French AI startup Mistral to launch an AI cloud powered by 18,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell chips. This platform will allow businesses to train and deploy AI models at scale.
Germany: Nvidia is constructing an “industrial cloud” tailored for European manufacturers, equipped with 10,000 GPUs to help modernize production and supply chain operations.
Italy and Armenia: New data center projects aimed at enhancing national AI capabilities and supporting digital transformation goals.
Telecom Partnerships: Collaborations with Orange and Telefonica to deploy generative AI applications and large language models (LLMs) on local infrastructure.
The Rise of Sovereign AI
A major focus of Nvidia’s expansion in Europe is on sovereign AI — the idea that data, models, and compute power remain within national or regional borders. This aligns with the EU's digital strategy, which emphasizes privacy, regulatory compliance (GDPR), and local control over critical infrastructure.
By building data centers and cloud solutions within Europe, Nvidia ensures that governments and enterprises can deploy AI securely and in full compliance with regional laws.
Investing in Talent and Research
Beyond hardware and infrastructure, Nvidia is also launching new AI tech centers in countries including the UK, France, Germany, and Spain. These centers will:
Provide workforce training in AI and machine learning
Support cutting-edge research and scientific discovery
Help local startups scale using Nvidia’s ecosystem
Software Push: Making AI More Accessible
While Nvidia is best known for its powerful GPUs, it is now making major investments in AI software. One standout offering is Nvidia NIM, a suite of pre-built AI models that can be deployed instantly, making it easier for developers to build apps without starting from scratch.
Additionally, Nvidia expanded DGX Cloud Lepton, a global GPU marketplace, and integrated it with Hugging Face, enabling developers to run any LLM hosted there directly through Nvidia’s ecosystem.
This hardware-software integration strategy gives Nvidia a significant edge over competitors and positions the company as an end-to-end AI solutions provider.
Conclusion: Nvidia Builds the AI Factories of the Future
Nvidia’s Europe strategy reflects a broader shift in how AI is being developed and deployed globally. By focusing on infrastructure, sovereignty, and seamless access to AI tools, Nvidia is not only securing market share—it’s helping shape the next era of digital transformation.
As AI becomes the foundational technology of the 21st century, Nvidia is ensuring it remains at the core of that transformation — not just in the U.S. or Asia, but increasingly across Europe.
